This type of blade is often called the wet cut blade. This is because there is no inbuilt heat distribution or fan like features to push air over the blade. The continuous rim blades are usually very flat with no air circulation hence need to run it with water flowing over it. The continuous rim blade is capable of producing a very clean edge while cutting marble, granite or porcelain tile and ceramic tile. This style of blade is also one of the slowest cutting blade.
